We are at Helsinki Vantaa Airport in Finland. This i a short tour inside the airport where we begin at the Finnair Check-in area in Terminal 2, move down to the check-in area for all flights (also in Terminal 2), where the Junkers A50 aircraft (registration OH-ABB) flown by Finnish aviation pioneer Väinö Bremer hangs on display. From this are we move back to the Finnair check-in area and check in at the Priority Check-in area as our Finnair flight to day is on Business Class. This also means that we will not be passing through the economy class security check but through the Premium Security Control. We then continue our tour in the departures hall where we give viewers a tour through some of the airport highlighting some of the Duty Free shops, specialty shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and cocktail bars available for passengers to visit at Helsinki Vantaa Airport. The tour ends close to the passport control area where gates 32-40 are located, this is the area for long-haul flights and flights to non-Schengen countries. Wiki writes about Helsinki Airport (HEL), "Helsinki Airport or Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (IATA: HEL, ICAO: EFHK; Finnish: Helsinki-Vantaan lentoasema, Swedish: Helsingfors-Vanda flygplats) is the main international airport of the Helsinki metropolitan region. The airport is located in the city of Vantaa, about 5 kilometres (3 mi) west of Tikkurila, the centre of Vantaa and 9.2 NM (17.0 km; 10.6 mi) north of Helsinki city center. The airport is operated by Finavia. Helsinki Airport is the leading long-haul airport in Northern Europe...The airport is the main international gateway to Finland and the biggest airport in the country. It is the 31st largest airport in Europe and 4th largest in the Nordic countries in terms of passenger numbers. About 90% of Finland’s international air traffic passes through Helsinki Airport..." Wiki writes about Finnair, "Finnair is the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland, with its headquarters in Vantaa and its main hub at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Finnair and its subsidiaries dominate both domestic and international air travel in Finland..." Snow, ice or slippery conditions are not a problem at Helsinki Airport or any other airport in Finland. The Finnish airport operator Finavia has invested plenty of resources in winter maintenance. The airports stay open in spite of snowfalls and sub-zero temperatures. The maintenance units, on call 24 for hours a day, and special machinery developed for reducing the slippery conditions of runways are the key. Safety is the first priority; that is why winter maintenance and anti-ice and de-icing treatments of runways are so important.

I visited the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. I just wanted to see the place - I was not going to fly anywhere. I am not used to flying - I have never done any holiday travel by airplane. And I have never travelled from this airport. -------- This is in practise the only major international airport in Finland - and the only big airport. In practise if you want to fly somewhere from/to Helsinki or come here your journey will start here. It seems that check in etc. should be done by yourself, not much service. And I must say that I did not get idea how to travel by Finnair because there was no check-in. Ukrainan airlines and Turkish airlindes would have bee clear because they had check-in desks. I was also looking for the public observation platform which should be somewhere - I did not find it. I visited the airport not seeing any airplanes.

Last October, five Finavia employees from different airports and units across Finland travelled for a work exchange to our sister airport Beijing Capital International Airport, which is the largest airport in Asia and the second largest airport in the world. As more and more Chinese passengers are travelling through Finavia's airports across Finland, the aim of the work exchange program was to allow Finavia's employees a chance to get to know the Chinese customer service culture and the needs of the Chinese passengers in more depth. Watch the video to see what three of our employees learned about how to provide better service for our Chinese customers.

This is a flight review of our Finnair Economy class flight from Helsinki Airport (HEL) to Bangkok´s Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Our flight footage begin´s at Helsinki Vantaa airport in the international departures area. We have just arrived from Copenhagen (also on a Finnair flight) and are making our way to our Bangkok flights gate, Gate 38. Before arriving at our gate we walk through the airport where the viewer should get an idea of the walking distance and a look at the tax-free shops (duty free), restaurants and bars on the way to the Gate. After we arrive at the gate we show some footage of our own plane, an Airbus A340-300 with registration OH-LQF. Not long after arriving at the gate we begin boarding the aircraft. Viewrs are given a nice look at what the Finnair Airbus A340 Economy Class Cabin Looks like. It is at this point we also present the "Very Outdated" Inflight Entertainment System that Finnair offers passengers on the Helsinki-Bangkok Route (This is the second time we have flown with this aircraft on this route). We do value the entertainment system on a long flight and as a result of this system we will not fly with Finnair again until they receive their new Airbus A350´s and begin using them on the Helsinki-Bangkok Route. After a few views of the Economy Class Passenger Cabin, we begin Pushback. We follow our Airbus A340 Aircraft taxiing all the way to the runway where we on the ways see a British Airways airbus taking off and the Japan Airlines Boeing 787 Dreamliner also taking off. Unfortunately our own takeoff is not included in the footage (we had memory card issues). The footage carries on when we are in the sky still climbing to our cruising altitude. We then have a closer look at our leg room and the very poor inflight entertainment system. After awhile the Finnair crew members begin serving us dinner (The Finnair stewardesses are Finnish and also include some Thai speaking Nationals). Our dinner choice is chicken or a vegetable dinner. We both choose the chicken and afterwards I request a Vegetable meal also as I am eager to film both meals. The footage shows both in-flight meals. As evening creeps in we show a few shots outside the aircraft. The footage then continues a few hours later where we are flying somewhere off the coat of India and Bangladesh. Breakfast starts to be served and we give the viewer a presentation of what a Finnair Economy Class In flight Breakfast Meal has to offer Finnair passengers. After breakfast we again give our viewers a look outside the aircraft where there is allot of lightning to see (it is after-all Monsoon season in Asia). We then begin our final approach towards Bangkok Airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport) and viewers are treated to the beautiful views final approach to this airport has to offer. After landing our taxiing rout can be followed all the way until we reach our gate. Disembarkation then begins and viewers can follow us from the aircraft into the airport. Finnair is a fantastic Airline and will be allot better when they take delivery of their new Airbus A350´s and can offer economy class passengers a more modern in-flight entertainment system. They should also consider re-introducing free alcoholic beverages on their long-haul flights (the Bangkok Route does not offer free beverages only two glasses of complimentary wine with your meal), How much extra can that cost? We would be willing to pay the extra 20-30 Euros for that service (An airport lounge with free drinks, snacks ect. costs around 20-25 Euros). The fact that drinks are not free is a factor which will make us choose an airline who does offer that "very normal service" on long haul flights (Finnair you are not a low cost airline!!) Wiki writes about Finnair, "Finnair Plc is the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland, with its headquarters in Vantaa and its main hub at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Finnair and its subsidiaries dominate both domestic and international air travel in Finland..." Wiki writes about the Airbus A340, "The Airbus A340 is a long-range, four-engine, wide-body commercial passenger jet airliner developed and produced by Airbus. The A340 was assembled at Toulouse, France...". This footage is filmed at Helsinki Airport (Finland), onboard a Finnair Airbus A340 passenger aircraft and at Suvarnabhumi Airport (also called Bangkok Airport). We were flying in June from Copenhagen Via Helsinki Via Bangkok to the Thailand tropical island of Koh Samui. *Our Gear (https://youtu.be/z06DkOYmGOU) Music by: Lino Rise Title: “Free Jingle Business VI” Title: “Channel Intro Flames AttachedSource: www.free-intro-music.com Please leave a COMMENT, LIKE or SUBSCRIBE to our channel to see more aviation videos like this. We are at Helsinki Vantaa International Airport (HEL) in transit on our way to our connection flight. We have arrived from Copenhagen (CPH) Denmark with Finnair at Gate 27. Our end destination is Koh Samui, via Bangkok, Thailand. This footage shows the Helsinki Airport International Departures area, International Arrivals Area, Transit Area. The footage covers our airport transit path from Gate 27 to Gate 38 (with a few stops in the middle). We are heading for Gate 38 where our Finnair flight is due to begin boarding soon. The walk from Gate 27 to Gate 38 is estimated to be around 5 minutes from Gate 27 where we have disembarked the aircraft (according to Helsink Vantaa Airports own information screens). However travelers should be very aware that when making intercontinental flights from Helsinki Airport (HEL) even when in transit, they will have to pass through customs (passport control), this can take a long time with very long cues. If you are an EU citizen the process can go quicker if you use the automatic passport scanning machines. This is a fully automated system, you scan your passport where after the gate opens, you then stand infront of a webcam and are photographed after which passport control is completed and you may continue your transit walk to your connection flight (there is no footage from passport control as filming is not allowed in this area). All in all transit to connecting flights at Helsinki Airport is very swift and easy. As can be seen on the footage there are many shops, kiosks, souvenir stores, restaurants and cafes on the way and passengers will also find charging points for electronics such as mobile phones, tablets and laptop computers. The area after passport control is where most, if not all, of Finnair´s flights to Asia depart. Finnair´s Asian route network includes flights to Beijing, Chongqing, Shanghai, Xián (in China), Hong Kong, Delhi (India), Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (Korea), Singapore, Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket (Thailand) and Hanoi in Vietnam. Wiki writes about Helsinki Vantaa Airport (HEL), "Helsinki Airport or Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is the main international airport of the Helsinki metropolitan region and the whole of Finland..." This aircraft footage is filmed at Helsinki Vantaa International Airport in Finland which lies in Northern Europe. *Our Gear (https://youtu.be/z06DkOYmGOU) Please leave a COMMENT, LIKE or SUBSCRIBE to our channel to see more aviation videos like this or... something completely different...
